Isia Augustine is a Reunion Island visual artist, manga artist and ambidextrous drawing artist. He creates two distinct drawings at the same time, one with each hand. His work brings together India ink, imaginary architecture, murals and live drawing.
01 — Artist
Two hands creating two worlds
Isia works on two different drawings at the same time, one with each hand. The audience watches both drawings develop in parallel.
India ink is central to his work. He also draws on manga, imaginary architecture, organic forms, murals and live performance. Because he works without a preliminary sketch, every mark remains visible in the final image.
Isia works in the studio and in public. His practice includes live drawing, illustration, murals, publishing and art education.
